Tomorrow evening, I am heading to the Italian Embassy for a concert by Neapolitan jazz singer Maria Pia de Vito. I must admit, I was not familiar with her work until Thursday afternoon, when I heard her being interviewed by WPFW’s Amy K. Bormet on Jazz Stories. I look forward to hearing more from this intriguing vocalist. She sings in English, Italian, and the native Neapolitan language.
