I will be attending the 7:00 show of pianist Jason Moran and Band Wagon – Tarus Mateen (b) and Nasheet Waits (d) with guest Ingrid Laubrock on reeds. The concert will be at the Kennedy Center’s Family Theater. Their project is entitled Black Stars, which is also the name of Mr. Moran’s Blue Note CD, released on 9/11/2001 http://www.allmusic.com/album/black-stars-mw0000013677. Mr. Moran was appointed Artistic Advisor for Jazz for the John F.
